What should I know about the mortgage administration transfer from RG Mortgage to Banco Popular?
• You will receive an official transfer notification letter at least 15 days prior to the effective date of transfer. This letter includes your full name, your RG Mortgage loan number and your NEW Banco Popular mortgage loan number. The first group of letters was mailed on October 27, 2008.
• All the terms and conditions of your mortgage loan will remain the same. Only the mortgage loan number will change and you will find the new number in the official transfer notification letter.
• The transfer notification letter indicates the date on which your mortgage loan will change to Banco Popular; this could be either November 17 or December 1, 2008. Please notice that all your mortgage loan payments must be made in Banco Popular as of the date indicated in your letter.
• During the months of November and December, Banco Popular will mail new coupon books containing your new mortgage loan number. You must start using your new coupon book immediately and discard the old one.
• You can make your mortgage loan payment at any Banco Popular branch throughout the Island, or you can mail it to; Banco Popular, División de Préstamos Hipotecarios, PO Box 71375, San Juan, PR 00936-7077 or through our web page at: www.popular.com
• If you had a Direct Payment contract with RG Mortgage, Banco Popular will honor it and will continue to debit your mortgage loan payments from your banking account on the date established in the contract you signed with RG Mortgage.
• For those clients who pay their mortgage loan with payment coupons, please make sure that you have your new coupon book prior to your next due date.
• If you have not received your new coupon book, it is very important that you verify with Banco Popular that the mailing address we have in file is correct and order a new coupon book. For more information, you can call us at 787-641-8062 or 1-877-641-8062 (free of charge) Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• If you need to make your mortgage loan payment and have not received your coupon book, please visit one of Banco Popular Branches and ask for a provisional mortgage loan payment coupon and make sure you include your the new mortgage loan number.
