Marla López Martínez, CIC, CFP®
Senior Vice President & Division Manager

Marla López Martínez is the Senior Vice President & Division Manager of Popular One; a division that seeks to achieve a more holistic view of our affluent customers and greater integration of our retail insurance and securities business. The division integrates the retail insurance services offered by Popular Risk Services and Popular Securities, and the private banking services & affluent businesses solutions.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus and she will be a graduation candidate the next 2024 from a Juris Doctor from Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.

Ms. López Martinez is a certified financial planner and is licensed by the Office of the Insurance Commissioner as an Insurance Producer for lifelines, disability, health, title and miscellaneous insurance. She also holds the Registered Financial Advisor licenses, Series 7, 24 and 66 issued by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Yolanda Varela Ayala is the Vice President and manager of Popular One ‘s Financial Planning & HUB unit at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.

Yolanda has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry with a specialty in sophisticated financial planning strategies, private banking, ultra-high net worth clients, business owners, and succession planning.

In addition, Yolanda is certified as a Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA), Public Accountant (CPA), and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).

Xavier Fernández Cruz, FPQP™
Private Banker

Provides private banking services and financial insights to individual investors and their families (Act 60 decree holders, formerly Act 22). Xavier holds a BS in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico. Has designation of Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional® (FPQP®), Accredited Behavioral Finance Professional SM (ABFP®), and Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM (AWMA®) which provides him a fundamental level of knowledge and awareness of the financial strategies and recommendations effectively used in personal financial planning for Puerto Rico residents and the unique needs of high-net-worth clients.

Miguel A. Rodríguez Fernández
Private Banker

Provides private banking services and financial insights to individual investors and their families (Act 60 decree holders, formerly Act 22). Miguel holds a BS in Accounting and Finance and a MS in Accounting from New York University. As a registered representative, he integrates financial and wealth management strategies and recommendations with the unique needs of high-net-worth clients and Puerto Rico residents.

Responsible for the unit that handles the portfolio for Act 60 clients (Formerly known as Act 20). Natalie Claudio joined Popular in 2005 and has over 35 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining Popular, she worked for Citibank as a Relationship Manager for corporate clients (multinationals, government, and financial institutions). Mrs. Claudio holds an MBA in Finance from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and a BBS in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
