How to Deposit Checks

  1. Insert your debit card and enter your PIN number.
  2. Select “Deposit”.
  3. For deposit type, select "checks" and the account where you want the deposit to be made (checking or savings).
  4. Insert the endorsed check. Checks are accepted up to a maximum of $10,000 for individual accounts or $25,000 for commercial, Wealth Management and Popular Premium customers.
  5. Confirm the amount of the deposit, as shown on the screen.
  6. Select the Receipt option. The ATM will print a receipt that includes an image of the check as evidence of the transaction.
  7. That’s it!
  • Checks from Popular deposited on business days before 6:00 p.m. will be processed on the same day and funds will be available the next day. 
  • Checks from other financial institutions deposited on business days before 6:00 p.m. will be processed on the same day. You will receive the first $275 on the next business day, up to $550 on the 2nd business day, and the rest of the money on the 3rd business day.

You can use Easy Deposit service only at ATMs that feature the Easy Deposit logo. All cash deposited before 9:30 p.m. on business days will be available immediately for all types of transactions. Cash deposits made after 9:30 p.m. on business days and on non- business days will only be available for purchases or withdrawals using the ATH® debit card. Checks deposited before 6:00 p.m. on a business day will be processed the same business day, subject to deposit verification and validation. To learn more about the availability of funds on deposited checks, please refer to the Bank's Policy for Availability of Funds at any of our branches or in the Deposit Account Agreement.
