  • You can apply for a U-Save account in the following ways:

    • Through the U-Save webpage, even if you're not registered for Mi Banco.
    • Through Mi Banco Online, by selecting "Open an Account" from the left-hand menu and then choosing U-Save.
    • Through the Mi Banco Móvil app, by selecting U-Save from the "Open an account or apply for a credit card" banner.

    To complete your application, you must have an active Popular checking or savings account. If you would like to access and manage your U-Save account online, you must register for Mi Banco.

  • No. If you have an active Popular checking or savings account, you can apply for a U-Save account without being registered for Mi Banco.

    To access and manage your account online, you must register for Mi Banco.

  • No. To open a U-Save account, you must first have an active Popular checking or savings account. If you're not yet a customer, you can open a Banco Popular account online or by visiting one of our branches.

  • It's designed for people who want to save in an organized and automatic way--especially for planned expenses such as tax payments, back to school, travel, weddings, education, recurring payments, and more.

  • You must have another Banco Popular transactional account from which funds will be debited and credited to your U-Save account.

 You can change the date to receive U-Save funds; free of charge at any time through Mi Banco or at a branch. A charge of $5.00 will apply if you make a partial or total withdrawal of the U-Save in one of our branches and another charge of $5.00 if you receive the money of your withdrawal in a check. U-save withdrawal fees will not apply if your withdrawal is made through Mi Banco. Fees could reduce the earnings on the account, for more details refer to the Characteristics and fees of the U-Save account.

 The Ahorro Directo service applies to purchases made with your BPPR ATH® debit cards from your checking account at points of sale (POS). Upon enrollment, the service will be automatically effective on the next business day.
