Our People

The men and women that work for our institution, from the top executives to the employees that carry out the most routine tasks, feel a special kind of pride while serving our clientele with care and dedication. They all feel the inner satisfaction of belonging to the Great Banco Popular Family, which encourages love and comprehension among all its members and, at the same time, firmly meets the strictest moral and conduct rules.

These words were written in 1988 by Rafael Carrión, Jr., president and Board of Directors president (1956-1991), for Banco Popular’s 95th anniversary and they are an indication of our commitment with our people.

Our Creed

Banco Popular is a genuinely native institution, dedicated exclusively to working for Puerto Rico’s social and economic well-being, and inspired by the most wholesome and basic good banking principles. Popular is pledging its efforts and will to the development of banking services for Puerto Rico within strict commercial and efficient standards as the most progressive community in the world may require.

These words, written in 1928 by Rafael Carrión Pacheco, executive vice president and president (1927-1956), represented the line of thought that governs Popular, Inc., in all its markets.
